Theresa May has called a snap General Election for Thursday 8th June, when the country will go to the polls to decide elect the next government.
Mrs May called the election following the Easter recess in a bid to get an increased majority as she tries to guide the country through the choppy waters of Brexit.
But Labour under Jeremy Corbyn has a strong membership and will be looking to regain the momentum they had twice when Mr Corbyn won leadership elections.
Meanwhile, Tim Farron and the Liberal Democrats have positioned themselves as the anti-Brexit party, while Ukip and the SNP both look to build on their vote from 2015.
