Two men have been fatally stabbed in one night, in Coventry and Hendon, north London.

A 16-year-old boy has died in hospital after being stabbed in Coventry.

Two teenagers have now been arrested on suspicion of murder after the boy was stabbed to death.

Both boys, who are 17-year-old, are currently in custody, West Midlands Police said.

Officers were called to reports of a young man found collapsed on Clay Lane in the Stoke area of the city at around 10.30pm on Saturday.

The victim was taken to hospital but died a short time later.

Police suspect he may have attended a nearby house party in Chandos Street.

Detective Inspector Michelle Allen said: "This is simply tragic. My thoughts remain with the young man's family and friends at this heart-breaking time.

"They are being supported by our specially trained family liaison officers.

"I'm still keen to hear from anyone who was at the party or anyone who has any information about what has happened last night to get in touch as soon as possible.

"If anyone was driving through the area last night and has dash-cam footage then I'd also ask them to get in contact.

"A young boy has died and we need to understand exactly what happened."

Officers have sealed off a number of scenes in the area while forensic examinations are carried out.

Witnesses or those with information are asked to phone 101 and quote reference 2816/Feb29 or do so anonymously via Crimestoppers.

Also on Sunday night, a man in his twenties was fatally stabbed in north London, Scotland Yard has said.

Police are investigating after they were called to Parson Street in Hendon, Barnet, at 9pm on Saturday.

No arrests have been made but "urgent enquiries" were ongoing, police said.

Witnesses or those with information were asked to phone 101 and quote reference 7686/Feb29 or do so anonymously via Crimestoppers.
