Two men who died within hours of each other in separate knife attacks have been named and pictured for the first time.

Arsenal fan Tashan Daniel, 20, was stabbed to death on a tube train in an "unprovoked attack" shortly before 4pm as he waited to travel into the city.

Rush hour commuters desperately tried to save Tashan's life after he was knifed on board a carriage at Hillingdon Station.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, but he sadly died on board the train.

There have been no arrests made in connection with his death.

Detectives believe two men picked a fight with Tashan and his friend as they waited for a Piccadilly line train into the city.

After one of them stabbed him, they fled to nearby Auriol Drive where officers later discovered the weapon.

Police are now appealing for any information that may lead to Tashan's killer.

DCI Sam Blackburn said: "Tashan was an upstanding young man. He had only just celebrated his 20th birthday and was heading into London to watch Arsenal play. He did not deserve to lose his life during this senseless attack.

"We’d be keen to speak with any motorist with dashcam footage from the Auriol Drive or outside Hillingdon station at approximately 3.45pm to 4pm yesterday.”

Just three hours after Tashan's killing, another man was murdered in nearby Ealing Common.

He has now been named as 22-year-old Osvaldo Carvalho.

Police were called at around 6pm to Uxbridge Road to reports of a fight in the area.

When emergency services arrived they found Osvaldo suffering from stab wounds and battled to save his life.

Despite their best efforts, he died at the scene.

It is believed that Osvaldo and two friends had arrived in the area by car before heading over to a small park area.

Following a fight, Osvaldo and his friends ran away, but he was stabbed as he tried to escape.

DCI Noel McHugh said: “A young man has tragically lost his life and another family has been left grieving. The death of this man will no doubt impact all those who knew him, his family, friends and also the wider community in the area where this attack took place.

“We need those who have information to come forward now.

"Their information could prove vital to securing justice for the victim’s family. My team are busy at the crime scene and forensic analysis and review of local CCTV footage continues apace. "
