A 16-year-old boy has been charged with murdering teenager Damani Mauge, who was found with fatal stab wounds on a bus in Croydon.
Scotland Yard said the teenager, from Mitcham, was arrested on Sunday and has also been charged with attempted robbery and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
He is due to appear at Croydon Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
The Metropolitan Police said they had been called to a stabbing on a 130 bus in Whitehorse Lane in south London at about 8.30pm on Sunday, March 8.
Damani, aged 17, was found with fatal stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene at 9.07pm.
A post-mortem examination took place on Tuesday, March 10, and the cause of death was a stab wound to the chest, police said.
In response to the attack, BTP and the Met Police increased their patrols in the East Croydon area and a Section 60 order was enforced.
British Transport Police said Mr Johnson came into East Croydon station at around 4.30pm through the Ruskin Square ticket barrier, and was attacked minutes later.
While he was on the overbridge in the station he met someone who immediately pulled out a knife and stabbed him, the BTP said.
Emergency services were called at around 4.45pm, but despite the efforts of medics, including an air ambulance team, he died.
