Police have launched a murder investigation after the fatal stabbing of a man in east London.

Officers were called at 2.05am this morning by paramedics to reports of a fight on Hanameel Street in Newham.

Police attended and found a man, 29, who had been stabbed. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 2.44am.

One man has been arrested.

Police said the victim’s next of kin have been informed and enquiries are ongoing.
