Harrowing CCTV footage has captured the moment Grace Millane’s alleged killer wheeled her body from his hotel room in a suitcase.
The 27-year-old’s parents wept in court as they saw the suspected murderer take the backpacker’s body away on a luggage trolley from the CityLife Hotel in Auckland, New Zealand.
Brit Ms Millane was on a round-the-world trip when she was strangled on a Tinder date and was later found in a suitcase dumped in a shallow grave on December 9 last year.
The suspect was also seen buying gloves from a supermarket and a shovel from a DIY store.
He had previously claimed the pair parted ways at 10pm on the evening Grace died, but CCTV shown in court saw them return to the hotel together.
But he later admitted the pair had slept together, and she had accidentally died during consensual rough sex.
The prosecution says after he had dumped the body, the accused washed his rental Toyota and dumped Ms Millane’s belongings in a park bin.
Reporting of the defendant’s name has been banned by the New Zealand courts.
