The Lanes shopping centre in Carlisle has been evacuated after reports of a fire.

Fire engines are currently outside the shopping centre in Carlisle after reports of an incident inside the building.

Fire Alarms have been going off for over half an hour.

Cumbria Fire and Rescue service said it believed the incident was due to an electrical problem in one of the servers.

Vehicles are being turned away from the car park at this time.

Any further details about the matter have not yet been disclosed, however fire crews remain at the scene.

David Jackson, the Commercial Director of The Lanes has told local media: "The centre was evacuated at about 1.30pm this afternoon.
