A man in his late-50s who had tested positive for the Covid-19 coronavirus has died, Bristol Royal Infirmary has confirmed.

The man had underlying health conditions alongside contracting the novel coronavirus and his family have been informed.

Elsewhere, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Wales jumped by more than fifty per cent on Sunday to 94, Public Health Wales has confirmed

There were previously 60 cases of Covid-19 in Wales, but that has soared to just short of 100 in the past 24 hours.

On Sunday, Health Secretary Matt Hancock announced the government was planning to ask over-70s to self-isolate for up to four months to help limit the spread of the virus.

Meanwhile, the UK death toll from coronavirus jumped up by 10 to 21 on Saturday, while cases soared to 1,140.

And across the pond, US President Donald Trump extended his Europe-wide travel ban to now include the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
