Ilford double shooting leaves two men critical

Two men are fighting for their lives in hospital after a double shooting in Ilford in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Scotland Yard said they were called to reports of gunshots in Courtland Avenue, Ilford at 00:06hrs on Saturday, 28 September.

Specialist armed police and paramedics rushed to the scene where they found two men who had been shot.

Police said both men, who are believed to be in their twenties, were rushed to a central London hospital where they are now in a "critical condition."

Officers have launched an urgent investigation. No arrests have been made. A crime scene remains in place.
