Milton Keynes stabbing: 24-year-old charged with murder

A 24-year-old man has been charged with murder following an incident in Milton Keynes.

Lee Sopp, 24, of Daniels Welch, Milton Keynes has been charged with one count of murder and one count of possession of a knife blade in public in connection with the death of Mohamud Hashi.

Emergency services were called to reports of an "altercation" in a wooded area in Fishermead, Milton Keynes on Wednesday afternoon.

Police and ambulance crews found a wounded Mr Hashi, who died at the scene`and post-mortem tests found the cause of death was a stab wound to the right thigh.

Mr Sopp was also charged in connection with a string of other incidents, including one count of aggravated burglary, one count of inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent, one count of affray and one count of possession of a knife blade in a public place in connection with a separate incident on Thursday.

Following a search of an address in Daniels Welch yesterday Mr Sopp has also been charged with one count of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and one count of possession of criminal property and money laundering.

Mr Sopp is due to appear at Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
