Police make two more arrests in Nottingham murder probe

Police have made two further arrests in their investigation into the fatal stabbing of a man in Nottingham.

A man, 44 and woman, 23, were arrested today on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Police carried out warrants in the Bestwood and Hucknall areas of the city this morning.

A 43 year old man had already been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and has been released under investigation.

The victim, in his 20s, was stabbed on Union Road in the centre of Nottingham on Saturday evening. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detective Chief Inspector Robert Routledge said: "Our enquiries are continuing into the circumstances surrounding this man's death.

 "We are still urging anyone with any information, who hasn’t already come forward, to please get in touch with us.

 "We've increased reassurance patrols in the area and if anyone has any concerns we'd encourage them to speak to one of our officers.

 "We have a large team working tirelessly on this investigation and we’re doing everything we can to find the offender and bring them to justice.

"Anyone who witnessed the incident, who believes they may have recorded the assault on dash-cam footage or has any information about those responsible is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 812 of 14 September 2019, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
