Right-wing commentator Tom Harwood has taken aim at the 16 year old climate change activist for "sneering" at people for "her own ideological agenda."

The Guido Fawkes reporter has criticised Greta Thunberg's statement that all world leaders care about "is money" as "a bit rich" for someone who "has never had to work a day in her life".

In a post on Twitter, the journalist said: "Billions of people do have to think about money", accusing her of "sneering" at them.

The teenage climate activist has perviously been criticised by other British journalists including Piers Morgan and Jeremy Clarkson.

On ITV's Good Morning Britain, Mr Morgan put on an accent and mimicked her impassioned speech at the UN.

He said: “How dare you. You have stolen my morning. You have stolen my airtime. I have no life. How dare you.”

Jeremy Clarkson has also criticised Ms Thunberg, calling her a "spoilt brat".

Mr Harwood's tweet has received backlash on Twitter, with many people pointing out that Greta Thunberg is only 16.

One user wrote: "You're mad at a child for not having to work at 16 *yet*?"

Another called his comments "extraordinary".
