Virginia Roberts Giuffre has said the FBI have warned her a "credible" threat against her life has been made.

Mrs Giuffre has repeatedly alleged she was trafficked by convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and forced to have sex with Prince Andrew in 2001 when she was 17.

Since making the allegations publicly, she claims that some have wished harm on her.

Taking to Twitter, she said: "In response to the overwhelming amount of support I have received, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who is standing up beside me fighting for our children to have a safer future.

"I have been informed from the F.B.I there has been a credible death threat against me."

Hours earlier, Mrs Giuffre said that she is "not suicidal", adding that many "evil people" want to silence her.

In response to a tweet written about her that said "F.B.I. will kill her to protect the ultra rich and well connected...", the mother-of-three informed her followers she was not suicidal in "no way, shape or form".

Mrs Giuffre added: "If something happens to me - in the sake of my family do not let this go away and help me to protect them. Too many evil people want to see me quieted."

Prince Andrew has denied any form of sexual contact or relationship with Ms Giuffre Roberts and said that he has no recollection of meeting her.

"I can absolutely categorically tell you it never happened. I have no recollection of ever meeting this lady, none whatsoever," the Duke of York said.

Prince Andrew has been pictured with his arm around Ms Roberts Giuffre's waist at Ghislaine Maxwell's house, but he alleges that the photo may have been doctored.

Virginia Roberts Giuffre recently implored the British public to to "stand up beside me to help me fight this fight" and "not accept this as being OK".

"He knows what happened. I know what happened and there's only one of us telling the truth, and I know that's me," she said in an interview.

Speaking about Prince Andrew, she also said: "He is the most hideous dancer I've ever seen in my life.

The Duke of York's role in public life has recently suffered major setbacks with multi-million pound businesses cutting ties, and universities reviewing their association with him.
